MASOUD ALAVI

Masoud Alavi is a Danish-Iranian designer, typographer, and visual artist with more than three decades of experience creating identities, communication systems, and cultural narratives for institutions, organizations, and brands.
Educated at the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Tehran, and later at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, his work is shaped by the meeting of Persian visual culture and Scandinavian design traditions. This unique perspective informs a design practice rooted in clarity, meaning, and visual authenticity.
Throughout his career, Masoud has held leading creative positions including Creative Director, Design Strategist, and Head of Design. He has developed award-winning work for clients such as the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), TV 2 Denmark, LEGO, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, The Danish Parliament, The Royal Danish Library, DTU, and numerous cultural and commercial organizations.
His expertise spans brand identity, typography, visual communication, wayfinding, exhibition design, and strategic design development. Whether working with institutions, businesses, or cultural initiatives, he sees design as a powerful tool for creating understanding, connection, and lasting value.
Today, alongside his design practice, Masoud pursues an artistic investigation into memory, absence, language, and visual systems, exploring the space where art, design, and human experience intersect.
